About Dr. Javed H. Farooqui

Dr. Javed Hussain Farooqui is a dual fellowship trained ophthalmologist with sub speciality interest in Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery. After finishing his residency (post graduation) in ophthalmology from Delhi, he worked with Orbis International, USA on their flying eye Hospital, which is the only hospital on a plane in the world. This gave him an opportunity to travel to more than 20 countries to provide ophthalmic care and train local doctors. He then returned to Delhi to engage in a two year fellowship in complicated cataract surgery followed by another 18 months fellowship in corneal surgeries where he learnt and performed advanced corneal transplants and refractive/ LASIK surgeries. Dr Farooqui is academically oriented and has more than 40 peer reviewed publications to his credit. He is also passionate about teaching and has been a cataract surgical trainer for junior ophthalmologists for many years. His academic and surgical track record also gave him the opportunity to do an international fellowship in Corneal transplant, LASIK and cataract surgery in Adelaide, Australia where he gained a multi national and diverse perspective in to ophthalmic surgeries. With a rich 11 year experience, Dr Farooqui has worked as a consultant in various Hospitals in Delhi which include Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, Centre for Sight, Fortis Hospital (Vasant Kunj).
